Sub Sectionals

Please review the available slots below and click on the button to sign up.  It takes a lot of volunteers to run a track meet.  We are looking forward to creating a fun and welcoming atmosphere for our guest, athletes, and of course you!

Remember:

  • You will get a confirmation email after you sign up; you'll also get an email one day before as a friendly reminder.
  • Make sure to show up on time and wear appropriate clothes and shoes. 
  • We do ask that each parent work at least 2 shift through the season.  Thank you to those of you who work every meet!

Track Crew

These positions help with setting up and running the track events during the meet.  

Track Set Up
Timing Table: This is located at the finish line. A small tent, flags, table, and 2 chairs needs to be set up. *A trash can will need to be placed next to gate near finish line. This is for kids to remove hip stickers. Hurdles need to be stacked in lanes 4-8. (3 hurdles stacked in lane 4) Check in area will be in front of the track gate entrance. A table, 2 chairs, hip stickers, a trash can for hip sticker backing, and tent will need to be set up. Hurdles will need to be lined up in

Assistant Clerk
Help organize athletes at the starting line. Make sure they are ready to go, on deck, and in position.

Finish Line Clerk
Help line athletes up in their lane after race for final timing review. Remove blocks if need be, and help escort athletes off the track through stadium side gate. At the finish of the meet, please help with taking down timing tent, and put flags, etc. away. (1 person with flag & other at gate)

Field Floater
You will remain on the field. Help where ever help is needed. HELP CLEAR FIELD AFTER FIELD EVENTS (Hurdle Crew, Starting line, finish line, and help maintain the track. Only kids warming up or about to race should be on the field.)

Hurdle Crew
With help of Field Floater, Set up, remove, and clear hurdles. At the beginning of the meet the hurdles will be set up. You will need to help move hurdles from row 4 to 3-1. Hurdles will then need to be removed. Later in the meet hurdles will need to be moved around the track for 300mH and removed. Hurdles can then be cleared and put away. *YOU WILL HAVE A HURDLE FIELD PASS*

Stadium Clean Up
Tent and table tear down. Move everything to shed and put in designated space. Collect trash around stadium, under bleachers, cover high jump pit, pole vault pit, etc. (This is a group effort, your job is to help lead and make sure it is all done.)

Gate Check
Race Check In
You will be advised on what race is allowed to check in. You will check those students name off of list as they check in, and give them a hip sticker. (Hip stickers are given based on what lane they are running in. This will be on your list.) Athletes should put hip sticker on immediately.

Gate Keeper
*You have to be willing to be assertive.* Only Athletes who have been checked in for current race are allowed on the field. You will be next to check in table. Kids with current hip stickers may be allowed on the field. Coaches will have a coached tag and are allowed to go on and off the field. If you are the last shift, please help take down check in tent

Set-up area in front of track gate or in trolly. Check in all volunteers. Give necessary volunteers a lanyard, and collect lanyards. Keep in communication if someone needs a break.

Food will need to be pick up and delivered to the concession stand around 3:45. Pick up is usually Sonic on Carothers & Hog Woods in Cool springs

Concession Worker
Work in concessions. I have enough people scheduled so you can leave concessions and watch your child's event. When things slow down there is opportunity to leave early. That will be decided amongst the group in concessions.

Field Event Assistance
Shotput
measure throws for both girls and boys shotput. You could switch with discuss if you are trying to watch both.

Help assist coach with moving the pole & standards and whatever else is needed.
